Book cover for The Luminaries

Greene and Sasportas are great. This is the third book of their Seminars in Psychological Astrology, the first two being The Development of the Personality and Dynamics of the Unconscious. Those two focused more on specific things in Jungian psychology paired with astrological readings.

This book takes a much more focused look at… 🥁 🥁 🥁 the luminaries!

This book is all about the sun and the moon: how do we deal with Gaia, the Great Mother, and our monthly cycles? How do we expert our own will in pursuing the Great Father? What makes us unique, and what makes us feel whole?

The highlight of the book is in the third section, in which Sasportas and Greene lecture together on both the moon and the sun. There’s a segment where Sasportas analyzes three generations of men, and they have such witty and fun rapport. I loved to read it. As always, Sasportas is the granular, analytic astrologer and Greene dives deep into archetypes and what it all means. It’s great. I can’t wait to read the last book in the series, The Inner Planets.
