On Prisoners Without Trial
Daniels, Roger. Prisoners Without Trial: Japanese Americans in World War II. New York: Hill and Wang, 2004. pp. 162. Paperback.
Super brief overview of the internment of Japanese Americans in the United States. The author mostly comes at the topic from a politico-legal perspective, and I would have liked to see a bit more social history here, but his coverage of surveys designed to determine “loyalty” were utterly fascinating, and there’s really good work here, especially regarding redress and reparations.
