On the Cold War and the New Imperialism
Heller, Henry. The Cold War and the New Imperialism: A Global History, 1945-2005. New York: Monthly Review Press, 2006. pp. 366. Paperback.
This is, frankly, a remarkably weak book. It is clearly written for popular audiences (which is great!), but it functions more as a superficial “world history since 1945” text with only a few paragraphs on each given theme, tied together by chapter titles and little beyond that. The author is quite clearly a Marxist, but he isn’t too blatant about it. There are far better books on this subject, so I’d recommend reading those instead.
