On the Road
Kerouac, Jack. On the Road. New York: Penguin Books, 1976. pp. 307. Paperback.
It’s not good. It’s not terrible. I guess it’s ok. I would have loved this book 8 years ago, but Dean’s treatment of his wives (!!) made me angry. He destroys everything he touches and, yet, Dean is supposedly the allure of the book. I understand the literary merit, and it was an easy (at times pleasurable) read, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this book.
