On the Psychology of Eating
Ogden, Jane. The Psychology of Eating: From Healthy to Disordered Behavior. Chichester: Wiley-Blackwell, 2010. pp. 378. Paperback.
This is a more scientific book that surveys the literature that had been published regarding the psychology of eating as of 2010. The author dives into a number of topics including family background, eating disorders, obesity, anorexia, fad diets, nutrition, and much more. It isn’t a light read, but it is useful for framing the way we think about eating. Ogden’s book would be great for an undergraduate survey on the topic or as a primer for doing further research.
