Excellent introduction to modern Ottoman history. The book can be sparse with details at time, but the author includes a decent list of recommended works at the end of each chapter, so it is easy for the reader to learn more. The one major downside is that the author appears to be downplaying the Armenian genocide, but overall the work is worth reading.
