On Paris Noir

Stovall, Tyler. Paris Noir: African-Americans in the City of Light. Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1996. pp. 366.

This is a great piece that unites African American history with French history. Essentially, Tyler Stovall argues that African Americans who went to Paris between 1914 and the present were not simply isolated individuals, but part of a much larger, cohesive community.
