On Infinite Jest

Wow. This had been on my to-read list a long time, but I bumped it to the top after someone said it had helped them out of their depression. It didn’t do that for me, but it did have me reflecting on my own life. Not much here is resolved, and yet it’s so easy to grow attached to the many characters, small and large alike — I felt closest to Don Gately, and Mario is one of the most lovable characters in all of literature. So much is left unfinished, but that’s a lot like life. The book works as both a circle and a triangle; I’ll let you read it to see what I mean.
