On Fascist Economic Policy

Welk, William G. Fascist Economic Policy: An Analysis of Fascist Italy's Economic Experiment. Russell & Russell, 1938. pp. 365.

Ultimately finds that the economic “policy” of Italian fascists is adequate (people are optimistic, although there is some grumbling), but fears that the anti-democratic nature of the fascist state will impact the economy in the future—people will not be able to put forth useful solutions during future crises because freedom of expression is limited. Also finds that Italy’s colonial campaign is likely to drastically harm Italy’s finances, as it was incredibly costly.
