Album cover for Hybrid Theory

Hybrid Theory is one of those legendary albums that I simply cannot get out of my head. My first encounter with it must have been as a ten year old in 2005. My friend Matt introduced me to Linkin Park and, since then, they are my single favorite musician.

Sometimes I pursue other threads of music, but I always make my way back to Linkin Park. Hybrid Theory with its experimental, urban sounds is an experience. Metal, rock, and rap all blend together in clashing harmony (and this is for the better).

The album is a stunning achievement, and it strikes me as the result of two very gifted individuals: Chester Bennington (may he rest in peace) and Mike Shinoda, who’s as strong as ever.

I still haven’t had the chance to listen to Linkin Park’s new album, but I’m working through their discography until I get there.
