Before listening through this album today, the only song I had known on it was “On My Way,” which was one that I played on repeat (via Youtube) when I had first heard it, probably in middle school. I’m glad I took the time to listen to the record more closely. The mixture of vocals and acoustic sounds give a soothing sound, and the songs found here are rhythmically satisfying. From the first song, “Take Off,” to the concluding, “Wheatfields.”
While the tones here are soft, the lyrics are actually quite dark. Without a close listen, this would be completely missed.
