It’s funny, I listened to this album for the first time yesterday, on the Metra to Chicago. I had no idea that the band was originally from my area, but here it is.

I’m not quite sure how to place Friday Pilots Club; actually, I’m not even sure how I discovered them. The music is dark, fast, and energizing. It seems like the sort of music that would be popular on TikTok and other short video services, but it’s also nice to have running (as you might be able to tell, I’m usually not fond of TikTok-core).

They don’t have much traction, as far as I can see, so it might be worth listening to if you’re looking to plumb the depths of recent music; but it certainly won’t be for everyone.
