I’ve talked in other reviews about the way Bloghouse influenced me at the start of the 2010s, and DatA’s Skywriter was one of the albums that I listened to alongside Daft Punk, Justice, Digitalism, and Uffie. Like Justice and Daft Punk, DatA have their origins in the French house scene, although–quite frankly–I have trouble finding much information about them.

My favorite songs here are the titular “Skywriter” and “Rapture,” but the album itself is well-done (if a product of its time). Worth a listen if you’re curious about the history of electronic music, especially in the age of bloghouse, but this one can also be skipped.
