Mogwai’s The Hawk is Howling was my introduction to post-rock. I specifically remember my parents giving me a copy of the CD for my 16th birthday, and I listened to it so many times.

“I’m Jim Morrison, I’m Dead” is an incredible way to start the album, and I think it remains my favorite song on the album, although I’m also fond of “The Sun Smells Too Loud.”

These are great instrumental sounds, and the ambiance here is something really special.
